Forest Through the Trees

I stumbled on this beautiful wallpaper on Pinterest! 

And although I love the look of all white, I couldn't help but think this room needed a nice pop of red! So I dug around a little more and I found this design that distributed the red around the room nicely. However, I wasn't too crazy about the holiday tree at this time of year.

So I decided to do some virtual shopping and I came up with my own design that I just couldn't wait to share.

(I apologize for the notebook paper. I promise I will get better supplies for my next blog!)

Now in my design I have opted to go bold with color and I am excited to report that this gorgeous look can be achieved for under $1K!

Nope I am serious! You can get this gorgeous look for under one thousand dollars and this is how!

This is the gorgeous comforter I used in my design. Notice the leaf design BONUS!

Now I loved this sidetable that I found at Wayfair.com but it was $83.99 and too rich for our budget! But with those simple lines, I know I can find this table at ANY yard sale or flea market for probably about $25 and with a little elbow grease I can create this look. Of course to add the drama to this room that caught my eye originally we need the Birch Tree Wallpaper

I figure we need at least 5 rolls to do that one back wall behind the bed.

THEN I found this AMAZING Bird Cage Chandelier on Overstock.com and THAT is when my insides started really jumping around and I was like Oh My God how perfect!

From there I searched high and low until I discovered this oh so fitting Bird Pillow over at Wayfair.com

 

Then I realized I needed to start adding that pop of color I was hoping for! So I discovered this Red Pillow. For our room we need two. 

To add some softness around the window without competing with the design, I opted for these beautiful subtle curtain panels that I found at Wayfair.com

I decided to have some fun with the accessories! Sure I found these great Birch Candles on Ebay. But we all know with a chain saw and some creativity we can create these candles ourselves!

 

Some pretty tea lights for the bureau that will carry our color scheme to the opposite side of the room. From Dotandbo.com

A nice bright red cardinal to accent the other corner of the bureau.

I thought that a bird nest would be fitting for this design. Probably a little hard to see in my drawing but I tucked a bird nest inside the bottom of the side table on top of some books. If you can find a bird nest in the wild GREAT! If not, you can cheat and buy a a bird nest with eggs on ebay of course.

I thought bringing in a strong geometric element would be a great touch so I went with black metal on the bed frame. (Please ignore that hideous bedding!)

and I also opted to bring in the black metal on the basket by the bureau.

Then to off set the hard lines of the basket I opted to put a lush textured blanket.

And I added some more of the geometric metal. Found this amazing mirror on Wayfair for only $65.99!
