I AM NOT AN EXPLORER!

The truth is I am a home decor enthusiast...fanatic....lover....PASSIONISTA! When I am not writing this blog, I am either combing over all the beautifully designed rooms online and in magazines, watching DIY and decorating shows, virtual window shopping for home decor, reading about the latest new/innovative design trends and products, drawing floor plans, or dreaming about ways to decorate my own home. I am not sure when exactly home decorating seeped into my soul but it grabbed hold and it won't let go.

So come along with me as I share what inspires me.

Today, I discovered this room design on Country Living's Facebook Timeline. This image epitomizes what I love about home decor. It isn't the style necessarily. (Although stunning!) But the way the style is executed that absolutely possesses me.

Of course the open concept is gorgeous. But for me it's the details that bring it home. Do you see how the turquoise green accent color even carries onto the kitchen counter on the left! LOVE that! Or how about the metallic throw pillows that pick up the finish of the stainless steel fridge! LOVE LOVE LOVE the wine bottle pendant lamps that even echo our color scheme! Seriously where would one even find those?! I love the touch of old with the aged hutch off to the right. I love how they used the bright pink and peach flowers which are complimentary colors (opposites on the color wheel) to all this mint and turquoise. Love the neutral colored area rug that softens and anchors the space. So much thought was put into these two rooms to create this tranquil classy design.

This is what I love about interior design. Every single little decision creates this amazingly cohesive space that not only looks flawless but it looks easy. There is no fussing about knickknacks here. It just seamlessly flows...
